Pelvic Floor Therapy Helps in 5 Ways

Improved Pelvic Organ Support

Pelvic floor physical therapy focuses on strengthening and supporting the pelvic floor muscles, enhancing the support provided to pelvic organs such as the bladder, uterus, prostate and rectum.

1

Enhanced bowel and bladder control

Your pelvic floor muscles maintain bowel and bladder control. With improved muscle tone and coordination, forget urinary frequency, urgency, hesitancy and leakage and bowel irregularities like irritable bowel syndrome.

2

Alleviation of pelvic pain

Pelvic pain can significantly impact your life and overall well-being. Manual techniques, stretching, relaxation exercises, and biofeedback can help reduce pain and discomfort associated with pelvic floor conditions.

3

Sexual Function

Your pelvic floor muscles play a crucial role in sexual function, including arousal, sensation, and orgasm. Therapy improves muscle strength, relaxation and coordination, so you regain confidence and enjoyment in sex.

4

Pre and Postnatal Health

Pregnancy, childbirth and postpartum recovery changes your pelvic floor. During pregnancy, therapy can help prepare the pelvic floor for childbirth and reduce pain and discomfort. After birth, therapy aids in pelvic floor rehabilitation, pelvic floor weakness, urinary or fecal incontinence and perineal healing. Even if your pregnancy was 30 years ago - your body is still postpartum.

5

You can continue to suffer in silence - or you can jump back in that saddle with a pelvic floor specialist.

By strengthening your pelvic floor muscles, you can reduce the symptoms associated with pelvic organ prolapse, such as urinary or fecal incontinence and pelvic pressure.

Amanda has helped me tremendously with my back, hip, and spine problems. After years of "graduating" from physical therapy only to end up right back in it again, Amanda got to the root of the problem with pelvic floor therapy. My other physical therapist remarked that Amanda's help with my pelvic floor seemed to be the biggest factor in moving me forward with my back and hip issues. Amanda also used AAT therapy to calm my nervous system down. The result of Amanda's work has been life-changing for me!

What is the cost of NOT doing pelvic floor therapy?

Can you put a price on painful sex?

What about chasing after your kids without leaking or feeling pressure?

Constant and sometimes immobilizing back pain?

What is it worth to you to be able to jump, run, bike or be intimate with a loved one?

Are you content to keep what's going on down there stuffed deep down inside?

Pelvic Floor Therapy, with the guidance of a trained therapist, can help you gain control and confidence in your own body - no matter what else is going on in your life.

Our Promise

A relaxing and welcoming environment where we listen to your goals and concerns and center these in everything we do.

Your licensed and experienced pelvic floor therapist will explain the what and the why behind everything and give you tips and exercises for life outside your appointments.

Benefits of out-of-Network

We strive to provide the highest quality care for our patients, but contracting with insurance companies means they dictate the duration of treatment sessions. In-network treatments are typically limited to 20-30 minutes. This is simply not enough time to conduct a thorough evaluation, effective treatment, or modification of a home exercise program.

At Anewu Physical Therapy, treatments are 55 minutes and your entire session is spent with a licensed physical therapist. Longer treatment sessions reduce the number of visits per week and increase the impact of each session. This means fewer co-pays, less time in the car, and better results.

We work for you, not for insurance companies. Our rates are clear and easy to understand. Under most insurance plans, patients can be reimbursed for a portion of their treatment cost according their out-of-network benefits. We provide detailed “superbills” that can be submitted to insurance companies for direct reimbursement. Submitting this to an insurance company requires filling out a simple form and sending a copy of the superbill. This keeps our staff level, overhead, and collection times low, enabling us to offer competitive pricing for premium quality services.  Most patients with insurance are reimbursed a substantial portion of their appointment cost. In some cases, the net out of pocket cost for treatment at Anewu is lower than the co-pays and co-insurance at an in-network provider.
